|Hello, I am Patrick Tan, owner of clickitpro.com and evalushop.com. I have studied the business practices adopted by 55 established small online retailers, and identified the effective e-commerce strategies essential for building a high-growth retailing business online.|
The research identified the following fundamental growth factors: Commitment, Content, Control, Integration and Partnership. The findings also identified Community and Process Improvement as important factors for retailers selling price-sensitive shopping goods. In particular, retailers deploy more resources to build online communities to encourage interactions among shoppers through Web 2.0 applications such as forums, blogs, P2P auctions, independent product reviews. A vibrant online community offers many opportunities for the retailers to increase sales and profitability.
We've adopted the above factors in developing evalushop.com, an online discount store cum peer-to-peer (P2P) auction marketplace. Now, we are ready to take our business to the next stage by setting up a global business alliance. We'll work closely with selected business partners to leverage our brand awareness, improve marketing effectiveness, streamline business operations, pursue new business opportunities and offer unique global shipping services to our customers worldwide. Most importantly, I believe our collective offerings will generate adequate public interests to warrant press attention and coverage worldwide. The global publicity blitz is certain to drive unprecedented traffics to our sites - something that we can never achieve on our own unless we have a multi-million dollar advertising budget.
Patrick Tan holds a MSc degree in Information Systems from Singapore's Nanyang Technological University, and a BScBA degree in Marketing and an MBA degree in Finance from Hawaii Pacific University. He is the former e-Business Manager of a leading department store in Singapore. His self-published book, Success with Online Retailing for Small Businesses, won the ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year 2003 Finalist award. He believes the e-commerce concept is fundamentally sound and viable as a mainstream activity and sets up evalushop.com to pursue his interest in developing global e-commerce, e-supply chain and order fulfillment systems.
