REFERRAL OR TELL-YOUR-FRIEND SCRIPT |
Don't underestimate the power of referral or "words of mouth" marketing. If you are able to tap into the online world's vast pool of goodwill, words of praise on your Web site and services will be spreading like wild fire across geographical boundaries through the emails.
The Referral Script is a simple CGI program that will automatically send a preset email invitation to each of the contacts submitted by a user. You can set the email invitation in text, image or HTML format. We've installed a similar referral script on our site. View Demo.
The scripts will be sent to you via email. There are three files: refer.txt, CGI_LIB.pl and refer.pl. The first document contains HTML codes for setting up the tell-your-friend form. Insert these codes into an HTML document called refer.html. The second and third files, CGI_LIB.pl and refer.pl, are CGI programs written in Perl language. You must save these CGI programs in the same directory as your refer.html document.
When the scripts are properly installed, you can access the 'Administration' area to set up email invitation in one of three avaialble formats: text, image or HTML document. You can return to this page to update your preset email invitation regularly. |
